Free text QR code
Write the text and the code builds on screen. Whoever scans it sees the text exactly as written, in their camera or reader: a serial number, an equipment instruction, an address, a poem if you like. With your colors and your logo, and downloads in SVG, PNG or PDF.
Three steps, nothing to install.
Everything runs on your own computer, start to finish.
Write the text
Exactly as you want it to appear, accents, line breaks and all. The code stores the text as UTF-8, so what you type is what comes out, in any language.
Make it yours
Colors, a draggable logo, module styles and a call-to-action frame, like any other type.
Download and test
SVG, PNG or PDF. Scan it with your phone before printing: the text should come out complete, with no garbled characters.
For what is not a link
A serial number on an equipment label, a part reference, watering instructions on a plant for sale, the contents of a box in storage. The reader sees the text instantly, with no network and no browser.
The shorter, the sturdier
Every character adds modules to the code. Two sentences scan fine; a full page produces a dense mosaic that demands a good camera and a steady hand. If the text is long, consider putting it on a web page and using the link QR instead.
What the reader does with the text varies
Most cameras show the text and offer to copy it. Some try to guess: if the text looks like a phone number, they offer to call. If that behavior matters to you, use the dedicated type instead (phone, email, WiFi), which declares the intent without guesswork.
It opens nothing and formats nothing
A text QR delivers characters, and nothing else: no bold, no headings, no guaranteed clickable links. If you want a tap to open something, use the right type for that thing: link, phone, email or WiFi.
It hides nothing you write
The text travels inside the code, readable by any scanner. It is no place for passwords, sensitive personal data or secrets: anyone with a camera can read them.
It has a practical size ceiling
The QR format holds a few thousand characters on paper, but scanning degrades long before that. Past a few hundred characters the generator still works; your camera may not.
Questions about the text QR.
Does it accept accents and other languages?
Yes. The text is encoded as UTF-8, which covers Portuguese, Spanish and any other script. What you write is what appears in the reader's camera.
Can I use line breaks?
Yes. The field accepts multiple lines and they survive scanning in most readers, which is handy for addresses and step-by-step instructions.
Why did my code come out so dense?
Because the text is long. Every character adds modules. Shorten the text, or move it to a web page and generate a link QR instead, which always stays small.
How much does it cost?
The first download each day is free in every tool, no account needed. After that, each code costs 1 EUR as a one-off purchase: you pay for that code and there is no monthly fee.
Text to hand over?
Put it in a code.
Open the generator and write. Nothing to install, nothing sent anywhere.
