Payment reference QR code

Fill in the beneficiary, the reference, the amount and the validity, and the code builds on screen. Whoever scans it sees the details on screen, ready to copy into their banking app, without mistyping a digit of the reference. For payment notices, rent receipts and paper invoices.

This code is not a bank QR and moves no money. It delivers the details as text, for the person to copy without errors into their own banking app. It is not the SEPA transfer QR (EPC) nor any national bank format.
How it works

Three steps, nothing to install.

Everything runs on your own computer, start to finish.

1

Fill in the details

The beneficiary (who gets paid), the reference exactly as it must be copied, the amount with the currency, and how long it is valid. Only what you fill in goes into the code.

2

Check digit by digit

It is money: read what you typed before generating. The code will deliver exactly this, and a wrong reference on paper is wrong on every phone that scans it.

3

Download and test

Scan with your phone and check the four fields on screen against the original document. Only then print.

It kills the reference typo

A payment reference runs nine to twenty-five digits, and one swapped digit sends the money into the limbo of unidentified payments. Copying from the screen after a scan removes the step where the typo is born: eyes and keyboard.

Labels come out in the page's language

Reference, Amount and Valid until are written in the language you create the code in (Portuguese, English or Spanish), and the reader understands each line without guessing what the number is.

Paper that ages well

The validity written into the code itself prevents payments against expired notices: the reader sees the deadline has passed before paying a reference that no longer exists.

Limits, stated upfront

It charges nothing and moves no money

The code delivers text. The payment happens in the reader's own banking app, with the details copied over. There is no connection to any bank, and that is what makes it simple and universal.

It is not the banks' format

Banking apps that scan payment QRs expect their own formats (EPC for SEPA transfers, national schemes). This code does not produce them: it is tidy text, not a payment order. If your bank issues its own QRs, use the bank's for that purpose.

It does not validate the reference

The generator cannot know whether the reference exists or whether the beneficiary's IBAN is really theirs: it delivers what you type. Checking before you generate is on you, and it is worth money.

Questions

Questions about the payment QR.

Does it work for bank transfers?

It delivers the IBAN or reference typo-free, as text, for the person to copy into their online banking. What it does not do is get read by the app as an automatic payment order.

Can I include an IBAN?

Yes, in the reference or beneficiary field: it is text, and it arrives whole. Remember anyone holding the paper can read it, which for an IBAN is usually acceptable, but the call is yours.

Why not generate a real bank QR?

Because a wrong payment order costs real money, and validating IBANs, amounts and national formats is bank work, with bank liability. We would rather deliver exact text and say so clearly than fake an automatic payment.

How much does it cost?

The first download each day is free in every tool, no account needed. After that, each code costs 1 EUR as a one-off purchase: you pay for that code and there is no monthly fee.
