Contact QR code

Fill in the name, phone, email, company and whatever else you like, and the code builds on screen in vCard format, the one address books understand. Whoever scans it receives the full card and saves it in one tap, without typing a letter. Ideal for the back of a business card.

How it works

Three steps, nothing to install.

Everything runs on your own computer, start to finish.

1

Fill in the card

First and last name are the base; phone, email, company, job title, website, address and a note are optional. Only what you fill in goes into the code.

2

Make it yours

Brand colors and your logo in the middle, like any type. On a business card, a QR with your logo is part of the design, not a patch.

3

Download and test

Scan it with your own phone before sending to print: the phone number should come out right, country code included, and the name with its accents in place.

Every field in its place in the address book

The vCard format tells the address book what is a name, what is a phone, what is a company. That is why the contact arrives tidy, and not as text dumped into the notes field.

Fewer fields, cleaner code

Every field adds modules. For a small printed card, name, phone and email are enough; the full address and the note fatten the code and demand more space on paper.

The phone carries the country code

Write the number with the country code (+351, +34). Without it, the saved contact dials fine at home and fails abroad, which is exactly where the card travels most.

Nothing you type leaves your browser. The code is drawn on your computer, is not sent to any server, and is not stored anywhere after you close the page.
Limits, stated upfront

The printed card does not update itself

The data lives inside the code. If you change number or company, cards already printed keep handing out the old data. If your details change often, consider a link QR pointing to a page of yours with the current contact.

It carries no photo

The format accepts photos, but they multiply the code's size into the unreadable. This generator leaves them out on purpose: a business card QR has to scan on the first try.

It does not sync with your address book

The code is not linked to your phone: it is a snapshot of the data at the moment you created it. Changing the contact in your address book changes no code anywhere.

Questions

Questions about the contact QR.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. vCard has been read by both native cameras for years: a contact preview appears with an add-to-contacts button.

Which fields should go on the back of a business card?

Name, phone with country code, and email. That is what the person wants to save in the moment; the rest is already printed on the card itself.

Do the accents in my name come out right?

Yes. The code is generated in UTF-8 and the fields carry the escapes the vCard format requires, so José and Conceição reach the address book as they should.

How much does it cost?

The first download each day is free in every tool, no account needed. After that, each code costs 1 EUR as a one-off purchase: you pay for that code and there is no monthly fee.
